“When Art Illuminates Energy”

By VIDEOS

Art, business, and new technologies came together to unleash the energy of collective action during the Energy Days in Katowice, Poland. In this context, the Respect Energy pavilion was transformed into an exhibition space showcasing works by the eminent Wojciech Siudmak, digitally created specifically for the occasion, with the main theme being energy. This initiative highlighted the interconnectedness between artistic creativity and technological innovations.

At the same time, the PRECOP 29 conference addressed crucial climate-related issues in various contexts, particularly through culture and art. This session brought together experts and artists, including Wojciech Siudmak, to discuss how art can influence the perception of environmental challenges.

Together, they explored how artistic initiatives can help raise public awareness and inspire concrete actions toward sustainability.

SIUDMAK “COSMOGONY”

By VIDEOS

The exhibition showcases nearly 100 iconic works by Master Wojciech Siudmak, renowned through various cultural events and publications. Among them is the sculpture “The Conductor” (2023), created based on the painting “The Pursuit of Sound,” presented in two versions, one in bronze and the other in a large-scale format produced using 3D printing.

The exhibition is enhanced by multimedia projections based on the works of Wojciech Siudmak, revealing the intricacies of the drawings, following the concept of “The Nobility of the Line.” The artist’s drawings bear the influences of the art of the great masters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, described by the artist himself as the « electrocardiogram of his soul ».

The vernissage of the exhibition “Siudmak. Cosmogonie” was a wonderful artistic event, graced by the presence of the artist himself – Master Wojciech Siudmak! The choir of the University of Economics in Katowice, under the direction of conductor Michał Brożek, performed “Dona nobis pacem” from Wojciech Kilar’s Missa “Pro Pacem.” The choice of this piece was dictated by the personal relationship between Wojciech Siudmak and Wojciech Kilar, who shared common ideals.

At the heart of the Tichauer Art Gallery, works known and appreciated worldwide are presented. This includes the famous series of events in 1999 in France, accompanying the celebrations of entering the new millennium, or works featured in Siudmak’s renowned exhibition at the Eiffel Tower.

DON CARLOS AND THE WORKS
OF THE MASTER!

By EXHIBITIONS & EVENTS

Whenever a theatrical performance features creations by famous and recognized masters, the stagings take on a special meaning. They are perfectly remembered both by the artists taking part in them and by the delighted audience.

In 2021, the same was true with G. Verdi's opera "Don Carlos", accompanied on stage by the paintings of another master, considered the main representative of fantastic realism - Wojciech Siudmak.

What Siudmak has in common with Dali is a virtuosity in rendering the three-dimensional illusion of space, a sense of light and shadow, and linear and aerial perspectives. Siudmak’s timeless and deeply individual art, far from theorizing and fashion, captivates with its Renaissance perfection and imagination beyond the norm, fascinating with its intellectual richness. The artist’s world is unique, full of personal symbolism, fantastic characters and constructions based on unexpected strands of thought. It is ruled by the motto: “Only a dream can transcend all barriers”.

He considers himself an heir to fantasy art, traces of which can be found as early as the wall paintings in the caves of Lascaux, through the visions of Hieronymus Bosch and Surrealism. He is inspired by the universe and the work of physicists and astrophysicists. He considers them the avant-garde of our time, not only scientifically but also in a certain sense artistically, as they provide us with a new view of the universe and aesthetic emotions. The artist seeks universal beauty based on mathematical patterns. He is not looking for “prettiness”, but, following in the footsteps of the ancient Greeks, intuitively reads it in mathematical rules and cosmic harmony.

Wojciech Siudmak is currently one of the world’s best-known Polish painters.

During the concert of G. Verdi's opera "Don Carlos", the artist's works were used as decor elements in his personal animation.

I would like my paintings to remind the residents of this building that they can be the masters of each new day, that they can live it positively. It was important to me that my artistic narrative gives them a sense of happiness. I hope they will be particularly proud to have such a decorated place as their residence,

summarized Wojciech Siudmak, the author of the paintings transferred to the walls of the building in the courtyard of Więckowskiego Street 4.

Those who enabled the installation of Wojciech Siudmak’s artwork on the internal facades of the building are Małgorzata Wachowicz, graduate architect engineer, and Andrzej Wachowicz, doctor of architectural engineering, both partners of Pracownia Autorska 28 studio.

Siudmak/Chopin/Nocturnes. Temporary exhibition in Żelazowa Wola

The temporary exhibition Siudmak / Chopin / Nocturnes is a presentation of 23 drawings by Wojciech Siudmak inspired by Fryderyk Chopin’s nocturnes. The exhibition available in museum spaces located in Żelazowa Wola is only a fragment of a series of drawings and paintings called Nocturnes. The artist’s works, created over several years, were collected in the publication Siudmak. Chopin, published by the REBIS Publishing House and the Fryderyk Chopin National Institute. The collector’s album, in addition to the works of Wojciech Siudmak, contains discussions of Chopin’s nocturnes prepared by the outstanding musicologist prof. Irena Poniatowska.

The music of Chopin’s nocturnes contains a whole palette of feelings ranging from love to a premonition of death, despair, lament, melancholy, and grief that, as the composer said himself, defined the character of his music, and especially of the nocturnes. Just the choice of the keys defines the emotional world of Chopin. (…) C-sharp minor denoted the complaint of the unrequited love, D-flat major – of suffering and rapture, A-flat major – of death, E-flat major – of heroism, and love and prayer, as its key signature contains the number 3 (of flats). That world was further defined by unexpected modulations, dissonances, decorative quality of the melody, contrasts in dynamic and expression, and the combination of the lyrical with the dramatical, and of simplicity with sophistication
