The sculpture “GARDE DU DESERT” OR “GUARDIAN OF THE DESERT“, depicts a hybrid of a man and a bird. The artist has shown muscular, male legs, which at hip level end in a long bird beak. Next to the figure’s limbs is a cracked egg. The work draws attention primarily to the incredible quality of execution – Wojciech Siudmak has depicted the taut muscles and tight tendons drawing under the surface of the skin with extreme precision. The dark, almost black colors of the work give it a certain predatory quality, which perfectly harmonizes with the animalistic part of the sculpture.
